2014-2015 Winter Travel Season

Coaches will be contacting teams soon.  Practices for most teams will begin next week.

TRYOUT SCHEDULE ** Please arrive 15 minutes prior to each session to check-in **

Tryouts will be held the weekend of September 22nd and 3rd between the hours of 9am and 3pm. Specific times for each age group will be announced shortly.

ABOUT TRYOUTS (NOTE: There are no “cuts” in our program. All players are placed on a team.)

Evaluators will run the players through a series of skill drills and game scrimmages to assess their skill level. These evaluators are outside volunteers and current/former BGBC Board members and coaches. Evaluators may not participate in sessions involving their own children.

Following tryouts, the club will form two teams at the Biddy and Junior levels and one at the 4th grade level. We will then create additional teams at all levels/ages as needed based on coaching and player availability. 

These teams are created based on these evaluations while also taking into account the needs to create balanced teams position-wise. The two grades within each level may be mixed together. The 3rd/4th grade teams may be balanced a little more even skill wise as many of these are new players. 

All players are expected to attend both tryout sessions to help provide accurate evaluations. If your child cannot attend a session, please inform a board member at registration or tryouts. Players who do not attend either tryout session will be placed based on evaluations from previous years.

Parents are not allowed in the gym during try-outs. You may wait in the hallway or return at pick up time.

Teams are generally posted on our website approximately 72hrs after the final tryout date.

Practices will begin for most teams the first week of October.

BGBC wants to thank everyone for two exciting days of tryouts.  Our numbers are big this year and that made for highly competitive tryouts causing decisions to be as hard as ever.

Registering for this Fall's Bethlehem Girls Basketball Clinic run by girls varsity coach Matt Bixby.  The form can be found by clicking 'Handouts' on the left.

The first date is Saturday, September 21st and runs for 3 weeks.

Cost is $10 per/session and all proceeds go to support the Girls High School Basketball program.
