 It's time to start the 2007-2008 Capital District Girls Basketball season.

                            Wow did summer go fast.

Welcome back to those who have played for us before and welcome to everyone who is new to our program.

I have been getting calls and e mails asking about the time table for the new year. So here goes:

PRE - REGISTRATION:  When: Tues 9/25 & Wed 9/26       7-9PM

                            Where: Bethlehem Town Park Rec Building

It is highly recommended you pre register so we can get an idea of how many participants we will have. this allows us to get Coaches, arrange gym time, see how many new uniforms we will need. etc.

TRY OUTS: When: Saturday 9/29 & Tues 10/2 - see pre registration form for times by age.

It is recommended you attend both dates. If you can't let us know.

There will be a spot for every girl who tries out. We will form teams and play in real leagues with real games and the possibility of playoffs for all.

UNIFORMS: WE WILL BE GETTING NEW UNIFORMS FOR ALL TRAVEL TEAMS THIS YEAR!!!!!!!! YEAH!!!!!

If you have a uniform from summer league please bring it to the pre - registration.

There will be a deposit in the form of a $75 check that will not be cashed and will be returned to you at the end of the season when the uniform is returned in the condition it was issued in. This is due after tryouts and team selections.

PRACTICE: We have the labor hall every Thursday night. We will also use the Middle School and High School - dates to be determined.

SCHOOL TEAMS: there is no restriction on what teams you can play on. you may play multiple teams. We ask that if you do this that you let us know your level of commitment to our team. It is not fair to those who play for us only to lose time to someone that doesn't come to practices.

ROSTERS: All player rosters must be submitted by Oct 31. If you plan on trying out for a school team and don't make it you can't be added to our teams after 10/31.

COST: is on the pre registration form. For those who played 7th -9th summer league there will be a $5 discount from the fee.

Summer League begins in JULY!!!   ALL FORMS AND SCHEDULES CAN BE FOUND UNDER THE HANDOUT LINK!!  

ALL games are played on indoor courts !!!

5th & 6th grade team (current 4th & 5th grade girls)
               
                Game times will be at 5:45pm at Colonie High School.
                All games will be on Monday & Wednesday evenings.

7th, 8th & 9th grade team (current 6th, 7th & 8th grade girls)
  
                ALL games will be played at Colonie Central High School
                Game times will be at 6:45pm or 7:45pm,               All games will be on Monday & Wednesday evenings.

There is an entry fee for our teams to join such a pogram (we ask for $25.00 per girl, to help off set the registration fee).    

We generally like to have 20 - 30 girls available on the roster.  It has been our experience that there are mnay other comflicts, other sports, camps, vacations, family events, etc.  We are lucky to get 7 - 10 girls on a given night. 

Who coaches?  We look to parents who are either activly already coaching or who may think about coaching next year.  It is not a huge responsibility, show up, help substitute, and that's about it

 There are some exceptions.  We also have teams playing in HVCC, there is a varsity team & a JV team.  Mark Nealon, BC Varsity coach will determine my way of a meeting & sign-up who will play in which HVCC league. 

CURRENT 8TH GRADE GIRLS:   Please be aware that if you are going onto 9th grade next year, you can play in either/both Colonie & HVCC leagues. 

Just because you are asked to play on the HVCC JV league, does not mean you will make the BC JV team, or even the BC Freshman team.  

Please contact Joe Murphy if you are interested in either of the Colonie Teams, 5/6 and  7/8/9.  Pay close attention to morning announcement from Coach Nealon.

Tops will be provided by the respective programs.  Wear your own black shorts.  Tops must be returned at the completon of the summer leagues last game. 

If your interested in playing on one of the summer league teams (5/6) or (7/8/9) or coaching one of them, please contatc Joe Murphy as well.  We can't have to many of either.
